The American Association for the History of Nursing (AAHN) is currently accepting submissions for its four distinguished research awards, presented annually at the Fall AAHN Conference. This is a fantastic opportunity for nursing history scholars at all stages of their careers to gain recognition for their significant contributions to the field.

Recognizing Excellence in Nursing History Research

The AAHN offers the following awards:

• The Teresa E. Christy Award: Celebrates outstanding historical research and writing by students, typically recognizing exceptional dissertations.
• The Lavinia L. Dock Award: Honors exemplary research and writing within a book authored by an experienced scholar in nursing history.
• The Mary Adelaide Nutting Award: Acknowledges outstanding research and writing from experienced scholars or students (primarily post-doctoral manuscripts or articles; pre-doctoral student articles should be directed to the Christy Award).
• The Mary M. Roberts Award: Recognizes exceptional original research and writing in an edited book focused on nursing history.

Eligibility and Submission Details

Please note that only AAHN members are eligible to apply for these prestigious awards. If you are not yet a member, we encourage you to join to take advantage of this and other valuable opportunities.

The deadline for all award submissions is June 15, 2025.
